More than 50,000 apps have been published using Windows App Studio Beta. We’ve seen a number of musicians, artists, and bands who build apps to connect with their fans and share their craft with a larger audience. We’ve also seen fans create apps that help spread the word about their favorite artists.

Here, we showcase two of these stories:

Russ Fustino has been a fan of the band Jethro Tull for more than 40 years. He chose Windows App Studio to build a universal Windows app for the band that he published to Windows Store and Windows Phone Store. He shared the app with lead singer Ian Anderson, who was about to embark on a world tour, and he loved it. The app is now officially endorsed by the band and Russ was able to meet the band and share his Windows App Studio app with Ian and fans. Check it out here.

It’s not just fans. Musicians also know that having their own app is a great way to connect with their followers and find new ones. DJ Nano is one of the most popular club DJs in the world. After a fan created a DJ Nano app, he decided to create one himself using Windows App Studio – learn more about it here.

If you’re looking to build your own fan page, you can easily add your own blog feed, Instagram account, Twitter wall, Facebook feed, your albums collections, live footage on YouTube, or even a text about your history using HTML.

With App Studio, it is also possible to sideload the app by scanning a QR code, then downloading a package including your AppX file, screenshots and tile, or, download the source code. With the source code and Visual Studio, the sky is the limit.

App Studio fans have also created tutorials showing how to add SoundCloud, BandsInTown, and SongKick.

What have you created with Windows App Studio? We love hearing your stories – tweet about your projects @wpdev using #windowsappstudio.
