We announced general availability of Azure Premium Storage in April 2015. Since then, a large number of Azure customers have used Premium Storage and experienced the tremendous improvements it brings to their Virtual Machine performance.
Customers moved their production workload to run using DS Series VMs and Premium Storage disks. Current Premium Storage usage covers a wide range of platforms and application scenarios including Windows Servers, various flavors of Linux, SQL Server, Microsoft Dynamics, Exchange, SharePoint, Oracle, SAP, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis and many other workloads. Azure Premium Storage is currently available in the following regions: West US, East US 2, West Europe, East China, Southeast Asia, Japan West, Japan East and Australia East.
We are working hard to expand Premium Storage to more regions and wanted to share our current plans. The following regions have a target release date in Q4 2015.

- East Asia
