Today we open the doors to Microsoft’s 2015 MVP Global Summit, the largest technical community event in the world. It’s something we look forward to all year, as it offers an unparalleled opportunity to sit down and talk face-to-face with some of the world’s most passionate, hands-on experts in our technologies.
Attendance in this year’s Summit is at an all-time high, with MVPs coming from more than 90 countries. They are joined by hundreds of Microsoft engineers and executives for deep, candid conversations about what’s working well, what can be improved and what’s coming next in our products and services. While the 600 deeply technical sessions rival big industry events in terms of the sheer amount of content, it’s the open, trusted discussions that distinguish the MVP Global Summit.
Our products and services will be better thanks to the feedback we receive from MVPs, who amplify the voice of community back to Microsoft. Building deeper insights and understanding of our products will better equip the MVPs to help people and organizations around the world make the most of our technologies. MVPs will be better prepared to support their local technical communities when we launch new products and services, as they will already have first-hand experience with them.
MVPs and our teams communicate frequently on email, Skype for Business and Yammer, but the opportunity to sit down face-to-face at the Summit adds a vital dynamic to these conversations. The MVPs are part of our family, which is why the Summit takes place right in our home, the Redmond campus. During this week the energy levels around the campus are invigorating.
I’d like to thank all the MVPs who have taken time away from busy daily lives to make the trek here and I am looking forward to talking with you in the next few days.
