Microsoft continues to focus on enabling developers to do amazing work as businesses and industries transform in support of the shift to a cloud-first, mobile-first world.  As we kick off 2016 our investment in platforms and tools that support developers continues to expand. We’ve seen a new generation of mobile devices and the scale of Windows 10 grow to more than 200 million devices since launch. We've also seen nearly 100,000 new subscribers per month on Azure, and we are always adding new features including the extension of data and machine learning as new platform services. And lastly to the continued extension of Office 365 as a platform for developers to build on top of to reach over 60 million subscribers.

With so many great new technologies to share and more on the horizon, we’re excited to talk about what’s next for developers.  As we shared previously, this year’s Build event takes place March 30-April 1 in San Francisco’s Moscone Center.  We know that many of you are eager to find out what else we have in store, and today we are announcing that we will open registration for our 2016 Build developer conference at 9:00 a.m. PT on Jan. 19.  I encourage you to take a minute and mark your calendar for this registration date.

This year’s Build will highlight the latest tools and technologies and how they can help today’s developers be their most creative and productive.  Build is filled with strong technical sessions as well as opportunities to meet and learn from others in the industry.  Based on your feedback year over year, we make sure the schedule is filled with solid content and as usual we strive to deliver some fun surprises along the way.

For now you can visit http://build.microsoft.com/, sign up for the mailing list for notifications, and plan to register on Jan. 19th.  After that, get ready to join us for three days of immersive sessions delivered by the engineers behind our devices and services.  In the spirit of event updates, Microsoft also announced the first ever Microsoft Envision, our new event for business leaders and decision makers.  Please share that with others who you think might find that event useful.  We’ll look forward to seeing all of the developers at Moscone or on-line at Channel9!

Cheers,

Guggs
