Recent record-breaking Powerball jackpots have created a lot of excitement over the past few weeks. But frequent lottery related searches aren’t new for Bing. In fact, there are 13 times more lottery-related searches on Bing than there are for pension-related searches, and searches for ‘lottery’ surpass those for ‘401k’ at a ratio of 10-to-1. Yet, according to a recent study, more than $2 billion in lottery prizes go unclaimed each year in the US, mostly because people don’t realize there are secondary prizes.
We believe part of the problem is the lack of convenience in having to navigate multiple sites to find what you need.
The new Bing lottery experience puts all relevant information front and center, making it easier for you to find what you need. We also discovered a lot of fun facts while researching this topic – read to the end of the blog to see our infographic of lottery trivia.
Lottery results
You can now search for the winning numbers right on Bing. Search on the name of the lottery you’re playing, such as “Powerball” or “California lotto,” to get the results. Our lottery answers include the winning numbers, the current estimated jackpot amount and when the next drawing will be.
Lottery information
In addition to the winning numbers, Bing gives you relevant information on the lottery you searched for, such as the winning odds, drawing times and the price of a ticket.
Upcoming feature: Related lotteries
As we are continuing to develop the lottery feature in the next few days, Bing will also start providing information on related lotteries within the same state, so you can stay updated on all the other opportunities to win big.
